| Welcome to Morium. This may be a bit confusing to people, so we've set up this reference to help you better understand. This is not a role-playing journal, or fictional in any sense. This originally started as a paper journal, and since our discovery of Livejournal, we will be transferring older entries as time permits. |
| Morium is Latin for ways, conduct, character, morals. We decided that this best fit our situation, and we have chosen it for the name of our system. Someone saw it in our dreams, and we all felt such a strong connection to it. |
| You may have noticed by now that there is WE instead of the I. This is because we are diagnosed as a multiple. This means that we have many minds in one body. Not all of the minds want to be a part of this journal, and we respect that. There are many of us here, but only four of us wish to use this journal. We may reference other people, but until they wish it, they will not be interacting here. |
The Morium System is: Alise: - She is 15, and has long black hair and very pale skin. She feels as if she has been ill for a while, or had in the past. At four foot two inches, she feels very fragile and vunerable.
- She speaks very softly, and is very shy. However, she likes to write stories and read them to friends. She is often very lonely, and distrustful of strangers.
- She is the "root" personality, who was orginially here, according to our doctor, Dr. Sanders .
- Also, the Mother refers to Alise as her daughter, and Alise feels very strong love towards her.
- Alise is pronounces like A-leese, and she appreciates when people say it correctly.
- When she is front, she likes to write entries normal of a young girl, and read fashion magazines.
- Her favorite television show is Degrassi: The Next Generation. Her favorite movie is What A Girl Wants, and her favorite band is The Pixies.
Claire: - She is the front in the system most commonly.
- She is around 35, but she won't reveal her exact age. She is also very picky about her appearance, and demands a tidy exterior. Mostly stylish clothing, and she like the hair to be pulled back or braided. It also irritates her when people don't take her seriously because the body is still child-like.
- A very authoritive figure, she was a natural front because she is an adult, and seems to be very capable of dealing with any event.
- She is very precise about her typing and spelling, and usually tries to correct the others, although she is working on being more understanding.
- She does back away from intimacy, even if she only percieves it.
- Her favorite television show is Forensic Files, her favorite movie is The Sphere, and her favorite band Fleetwood Mac.
Ethan: - He is 17, and has spikey hair and is not very attractive in the "movie star" sense. He doesn't project his physical image much, although he is very male, and not effeminate at all. The body moves and feels like a male body when he is front, although he understands the physical limitations and has accepted them.
- He is very into piercings, and also has a history of self-injury. The Doctor has worked very hard with him on understanding that he cannot hurt the body without hurting all the family. He tries very hard to remember this, but he occasionally relapses. He has many false piercing jewelry that he wears.
- He has a trouble with authority, and sometimes that causes friction with Claire. He usually fronts when there is a conflict between family or friends outside the system.
- He uses drugs, mainly heroin and marijuana, although once we began working with the Doctor, he has agreed to cease using. Although he was not a habitual user, we felt it best for the system if he did not continue. (Note from Mother: The drug use is part of Ethan's personality, not an actual habit. Alise has never used drugs, nor has she ever had any put in her when Ethan is fronting.)
- He is very into "darker" things, but is not gothic.
- His favorite television show is MXC, his favorite movie is House of 1000 Corpses, and his favorite band is System of a Down.
Alex: - Alex is around 28. He is rather normal in all aspects, with shaggy brown hair and blue eyes. He is taller than the body, so he's having a bit of a time getting used to being in front.
- He is relatively new to the system, although he has been with us for a long time. He has only recently been developing his own identity as a front, and communicating with others in the system.
- He plays the guitar quite well, and also enjoys playing hackey sack.
- Claire and Alise both have worked at befriending him and helping him come to the front more often. It seems him and Ethan are developing a friendship as well.
- Also an avid writer of lyrics, he hopes to be able to share some in this journal.
- His favorite television show is also Forensic Files, his favorite movie is The Dawn Of The Dead, and his favorite band is Nirvana.
The "Distant" Relatives: (These are other people in the system, past and present, that do not wish to communicate through this journal, or have simply moved on.) - Eliza: She is a very young girl, and does not come to the front at all.
- Peter: He is Eliza's brother who died as an infant.
- Marie: She is an elderly lady, the warm grandmotherly sort who tends to the children. She may occasionaly make a few entries here for recipes and cooking tips.
- Sam: He was originally a front in the system, but he was very harsh and destructive towards the body. Due to safety, he was forced to leave the system.
- Melanie: She is a very promiscous teen girl, and she is not encourage to front very often. The Doctor has talked to her, and has an understanding that the body is not ready for that type of behaviour yet.
- There are other, but they wished to remain out of this journal.

Morium System Outsiders: Doctor Sanders: - She is our primary psychiatrist and therapist. We have two other mental doctors, but our main work is with her. She is a wonderful but stern woman, and has given us the strength and knowladge to become a functional multiple system.
- Her office is our safe haven, although she also comes to our house at times. She encourages all of us to have time with her, and she manages our appointments to allow us order.
- She also helped us write this bio, and will also be viewing our journal. Do not be afraid to interact with us, as we've asked her to share this expierence. She will not, however, read your comments to us or monitor/censor us at all. We will still make "friends only" entries, and she will not use our journal to corrospond with any of you.
Mother: - This is Alise's mother. She is a very kind woman who loves Alise very much. She has also been a great help with ordering our system and making all of us feel very welcome.
- She does not encourage Alise to "get rid" of anyone, although she supports any recovery or therapy Alise may need.
- Claire is also very attached to Mother, and they share a special friendship completely seperate from Alise's. She also treats the other members of the system very well, provided they take care of the body and respect her as Mother.
- She is divorced from Alise's father, and they do not have any corrospondance.
Aunt: - The aunt is another kind woman who helps take care of Alise and Morium. She attends to Alise when the Mother is at work or ill.
- She is also very supportive of the system, and especially dotes on Ethan. They seem to both understand the kindred spirit, and both are horror movie buffs.
- She make wonderful toffee cookies.
The Teachers: - Alise attends a private high school in Ohio. She hopes to study at Princeton when she graduates.
- Her teachers are aware of her being a multiple, and work very hard to attend to her needs. She is treated like a normal student for the most part, although Ethan likes to pull pranks now and then.
- She has many friends at her school, and even had a date to a school dance.
- While her school is co-ed, she does not have a boyfriend.

Common Words: These are words you will find used in this journal that you may not know what they mean, or mean in this context. - Multiple: This is a person who has more than one mind in their body.
- System: An ordered way of living as a multiple. Many refer to this as family, group, system, or even their own personal names. In this journal, it refers to the minds in the Morium System.
- Front: This simply means which mind is controlling the body at the time. There are times when more than one personality will be at the front, but in the Morium system, only one person is allowed to control the body.
- Body: This refers to the physical body of the Morium System.
- Yri: This is pronounced Yur-ri, and is a reference to the book "I Never Promised You A Rose Garden", by Joanne Greenburg. This is what we call Dr. Sander's office, because it is our safe place. It is merely a joke between the Doctor and Morium.
- Downtime: This is when Morium is having order problems, or cannot agree on a front. This doesn't happen so often anymore.

A Few Rules And Guidelines: We know people don't like a lot of fuss and rules, but as this is a system, some things must be addressed. We are very open to new friends, and love talking to people about many things. But we also must protect ourselves. - Confused? Sometimes, so are we! All joking aside, it's really easy to tell who is writing what in our journal. The subject will contain our name, and we will also try to remember to conclude each entry with our name as well. Claire will be overseeing this step, so it should be a breeze to know who's who!
- Content Warning: Some of us are adults, and may use adult language or subject matter. We are a child-friendly journal (and system!), and will put all questionable material behing a livejournal cut, with a descriptive warning as to what is behind it. We will never post illegal or pornographic material, pictures or content, nor will we tolerate it in comments. Please keep your comments G-rated unless it is under an adult content post.
- Adding us? To all of our guests who would like to add our journal, and be added in return, please take a moment to comment in this post. This is not to screen or judge you, but to help all member of Morium become familiar with you. Sometimes one of us will forget to tell the others of new friends, and this page will keep us from having to sit down and figure it out!
- Doctors, Students, or Non-Plurals: We welcome you to read our journal, and even interact with us. However, we have our own very capable medical team and do not require or want outside help or advice. While you are free to read and ask questions, do not interact with our guests and friends without asking them first.
- Other Multiples and Systems: We welcome all other systems and plurals, whether it's your system journal or individual. Again, please leave us a small note in this post so we can all become aquainted. We are very interested in other's systems, and especially making friends with other multiples.
- Media, Press, On-line media: We are, to an extent, open to answering your questions and allowing you to read our journal. However, we ask that you either email us, or leave a message on the aforementioned post before reprinting or copying any part of this journal, bio, or any other information pertaining to us. We are very friendly and willing to help people learn about this rare and special gift we have, but we do not appreciate plaguerizism and slander. If you want to use anything, simply ask!
- Trolls, Critics, and Nasty People: We do not invade anyone's journal, nor do we wish to. While you may find this humorous, or even think it's absurd or made-up, please do not comment to poke fun or insult. We respect your beliefs and opinions, but we will not put up with harrassment. Just giggle to yourself or a friend next to you, but don't bother us and we won't bother you!

Technical Credits and Questions: This journal and bio was created by the Morium System members, and all the members helped write their own blurb in the bio. Claire will be the maintainer of this journal, and will be responsible for overseeing it's contents. She will also be the one adding friends for the most part, as we've decided it will go more fluidly if only one of us does that. If you have any technical problems with this journal, or spot any errors, feel free to email us and we'll try to address it as soon as possible. The older entries are from our original notebook, and will be transcribed by Claire when time allows. Also, they may be edited for privacy or profanity. Now, onto the journal and onto adventure! Please enjoy your stay! |
